Membership & Meeting Information

Meeting Information (Members Only)

Mu Iota Omega Chapter’s Meetings are open to initiated members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® only.  Chapter meetings are held 10:00am on the third Saturday of the month (excluding July & August).  Traditionally, meetings are held at the Mu Iota Omega Center, 1417 Tenth Ave. Conway, SC.  ​

Visiting members may attend two meetings and are asked to please bring your Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated financial card and picture ID, a transfer verification form from a chapter with proper signatures or an Ivy Leaf Magazine with address label attached along with a picture ID.  Business professional attire is required.

Reactivation

Mu Iota Omega welcomes existing members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® to reactivate with the sorority.  We encourage inactive members to attend chapter events and our monthly meetings to get reacquainted.

Transferring Members

Mu Iota Omega (MIO) welcomes all members looking for a new chapter home.  If you would like to transfer to MIO from another chapter or general membership please contact our Membership Chairman, Kisha Guess Black at muiotaomegamembership1908@gmail.com for further details.

Graduate Chapter Reactivation Form – complete and submit to the chapter with which you wish to affiliate plus money order/certified check for reactivation/reinstatement fees, chapter dues, fees and assessments, as applicable.

 

2023 General Member Reactivation Form – complete and submit to the Corporate Office plus money order/certified check for reactivation/reinstatement fees, per capita, fees and assessments, as applicable.

Business attire (pink/green preferred) is required for all chapter meetings unless otherwise noted.

 

Prospective Members

Graduate chapters do not accept letters of interest.  Membership is by invitation only. Graduate chapters host public events, such as cultural presentations, forums, and social activities, so prospective candidates can become acquainted with chapter members and learn about service activities they offer to local communities.  Please visit the International Website at www.aka1908.com for more information regarding the sorority and qualifications for membership.
