About Mu Iota Omega Center
In 2004, under the administration of Ballery V. Skipper, Chapter President, the charge to pursue property for Mu Iota Omega Chapter began.
In 2011, a Building & Property Committee was appointed under the tenure of Felisa G. McDavid, Chapter President. The committee was given the charge to explore available property for utilization of sorority business and community service activities. After months of conducting a search, the committee identified property that appeared to fit the needs of the chapter. The site contained two offices, two restrooms, a large foyer, conference area, kitchen and outside storage room.
During 2012, several informational meetings and viewings for the building were held to inform chapter members about the financial status and beautification of the building. In July 2012, the committee met to finalize the “reduction in price letter” in an effort to get the price as low as possible and not have a mortgage. On Friday, August 3, 2012, the Building & Property Committee reported to members that the bank accepted the bid on the property located at 1417 10th Avenue, Conway, SC 29526. The title to the real estate was granted on August 27, 2012. The document was signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of Angela Graham McIver, GeFranya M. Graham, Felisa G. McDavid (Chapter President), and Tuletia J. Rivens (Secretary). A long awaited dream had finally become a reality. This was indeed a glorious day in Mu Iota Omega Chapter history!
