Since we had a few snow flurries this past weekend, we wanted to make sure that you and your heart stay prepared for the cold weather. The combination of colder temperatures and physical exertion increases the workload on the heart. Protect your HEART with these tips:
1) Take frequent breaks when shoveling snow 2) Learn the heart attack warning signs & don’t wait to call 911
3) Don’t drink alcohol before or right after shoveling 4) Ask your doctor before exercising in the cold 5) Dress in layers of warm clothing & wear a hat 6) Know Hands-Only CPR
